We work with some very smart farmers. Taking a crop that hasn’t been commercialized before is no small task. Learning how to grow and harvest catnip has taken time and the skill of our catnip (Nepeta cataria) growers to optimize. This year we hit a new record, 50lbs of oil per acre, which is double what we started with when we began this project. We could not have done it without our resourceful network of organizations and farmers who have contributed to effort. Scaling acreage is now in progress to fulfill the demand for this unique and effective insect* repellent active ingredient product produced from catnip plants grown in nature.
*Repels mosquitoes for up to 4 hours and black flies for up to 7 hours.
